The Committee George Best Community Cup 2009 Glentoran FC sends their very best wishes for success to the committee of this years George Best Community Cup. This event is eagerly anticipated by all connected with football in the East of the city and the opportunity offered to young footballers, their families and spectators is greatly appreciated. The George Best Community Cup has gone from strength to strength and is now recognised as a major event in the sporting and community calendar. We all hope that this summer will produce an even better tournament than before and that the young people involved will have a wonderful sporting and community experience.

Congratulations to everyone involved in putting this tournament together and we at the Welders are delighted to put our facilities at their disposal. The Welders are one of the largest social clubs in Northern Ireland and cater for a host of sporting activities within their ranks. They have a football team playing at Intermediate level and moving up next season to the Championship second division, a highly successful darts team playing at the highest level who clean up in the trophy stakes most years. They also cater for ladies darts, snooker, angling, swimming and golf.
